Australia: Statement by the Royal Melbourne Hospital –

RMH caring for injured from Bourke Street incident: As a result of an incident which occurred in Bourke Street earlier today, 11 patients were transported by Ambulance Victoria to the Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department.

The RMH made capacity to respond to this incident quickly and effectively, and are managing these cases. Of the 11 patients, we have three (3) critical, two (2) serious, and six (6) stable.

Families and next-of-kin for these patients are being supported by RMH staff.

Please note that patients’ conditions could change over time, and further condition reports will be released in a timely manner when appropriate.
