Australia: King Street, Templestowe, Victoria, remains closed for the evening commute following a head-on car collision.

Two small four door sedans collided head on at the curve in King Street east of Church Road. A Vicroria Police spokesperson said three people were transported to hospital by Ambulance Victoria (AV). 

The Highway Patrol is investigating the collision, but said “obviously a vehicle has gone onto the wrong side of the road causing a collision. We will need to interview the occupants.”

A Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) appliance from Station 30 in Templestowe was first on scene and provided oxygen therapy and neck support for possible spinal injuries. AV arrived shortly thereafter, with 3-4 Paramedic vehicles on scene.

Under Victoria’s Emergency Medical Response (EMR) program, both country and metropolitan fire services can be dispatched to  emergency medical calls (for instance heart conditions). 

When attending incidents like vehicle collisions, fire services are often first on scene and can also provide basic life support until paramedics arrive.

We observed the following vehicles at the incident:

• 1 MFB EMR Appliance
• 4 Paramedic units
• 3 Victoria Police vehicles
